Mills has performed with jazz artists including Steve Swallow, Carla Bley, Butch Miles, Tina Marsh, Kenny Wheeler and Maria Schneider. He has worked on stage and in studio with Bonnie Raitt, Dr. John, Aretha Franklin, David Byrne, Johnny Greenwood, Ray Benson and Asleep At The Wheel, Lyle Lovett, and Willie Nelson.
